Sunday, the last day of Chanuka, we held the yearly Bat Mitzvah event for the daughters of graduates of Bnei David together with their fathers. At ten o'clock in the morning thirty graduates presented themselves with their daughters at the gates of the Mechina. The oldest father was a graduate of the first class and the youngest a graduate of the 14th class.
After a short introductory game Rabbi Eli Sadan spoke with the daughters and met the excited fathers. The fathers received pages with sources to learn with their daughters about the subject "Greater is the one who is commanded and acts". At the end of their learning together they all heard a lecture given by Rabbi Eyal Kahalani from the Mechina. From there they continued on to our Bnei David Girl Midrasha- Danieli - in Tapuach to hear a class from Rabanit Yehudit Shilat. After a short recess and lunch they heard a talk from Rabbi Yigal Levinstein.
Then they all proceeded to the activity part of the day, in groups of study and play throughout the Midrasha campus, during which they made hot soup, prepared peetot on an open fire, after taking off "challah" first from the dough.
For the finale they went down into a beautiful stalactite cave. At the end of the day all the girls received the book "From Sea to Sea" written by the author Ronit Levinstein of blessed memory.
It was a fitting end to a good day. See you all next year!!
