Last week we went to visit some of our alumni who are currently Givati Brigade soldiers. They were training in the Ben Shemen Forest area. Close by we ran into other students of ours, from different IDF units, who happened to also be training in the vicinity.
A pleasant surprise awaited us in the synagogue; the new chief rabbi of the IDF, Rabbi Eyal Kareem, paid a visit to the same base. He was delighted to hear that we visit our students presently in the army and stay in continuous contact with them, as much as possible while they're in the army. He said that a student isn't like a missile that you fire and forget about, and we certainly agree.
To our students in the army: what would you like the most for us to bring you, besides Tzuri and Aliza's (the cooks) pancakes?
